HOW TO FILE A CREDIT REPORT DISPUTE

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the credit reporting agencies must reinvestigate information disputed by consumers.   The credit bureaus are required to send your dispute to the data furnisher.   Then, the company who supplied your information to the credit reporting agencies (the data furnisher) needs to investigate the dispute.   You cannot sue the data furnisher  under the FCRA until you have filed your dispute to the credit bureaus.
